Nieuw Amsterdam Cruise Cancelled by Holland America
The Holland America will not be sailing the cruise Nieuw Amsterdam because one of the azipod propulsion systems among the two of the chip is having a major issue. The cruise was to sail from February 1st. The ship will head towards the shipyard Grand Bahama for repairs instead of the Caribbean Cruise for seven nights. Holland America has mentioned in one of their statements that they have informed all their travel advisors and guests about canceling the cruise Nieuw Amsterdam. They have honestly regretted the situation that their guests and the travel advisors had to face for the cancellation and they had to bring about changes in their traveling plans.
Holland America has come up with a plan for them to travel in the future with them. The guests who had booked on the canceled cruise have been given an option. They can move to any other cruise for Mexico or the Caribbean for the same seven nights. But the cruise that they have to choose must sail during the spring season or winter season in 2020. The stateroom for the cruise will also remain the same as that of the previous canceled cruise.
Holland America has also promised another thing to them. All the guests who booked the Amsterdam cruise have instantly received full credit for any of their future cruise with them because the cancellation has happened on their part and they are responsible for this situation. In fact, the guests who have booked for the Amsterdam Cruise can move to a cruise in any other region. They can simply apply the fare paid option for availing the benefit. With the help of this, they will receive a half credit for any of their future sailing. The half-credit option is also available for the travel advisors too.
